Family Outreach GroupMeetings of subgroups of a church in peoples homes can be traced as far back as Biblical times (Acts 2:46-47). However in TCC, the Family Outreach Group meetings are not meant to be another church service! They are held in an informal atmosphere with balance of relaxation, encouragement, support and edification. Family Outreach Groups are smaller units within the larger local assembly which increase interaction between TCC brothers and sisters. For many, their FOG has become the only family they have ever known. When a sense of family is maintained in the Family Outreach Groups, ultimately a sense of family is maintained in the growing local assembly. The FOG also serve as points of contact for outreach and evangelism of the neighborhoods in which the FOG is located. The Family Outreach Group System01 Family Outreach Group meetings are supervised by Family Outreach Group leaders who host meetings in their homes or in a home chosen by the local church for the Group. Each Family Outreach Group is identified by the name of the FOG Leader and not by the home in which they meet. 02 Meetings include reviews of previous teaching topics from church services, Bible Games , watching Christian video tapes, listening to Christian Audio tapes , Love feasts, Singing surprise birthday songs for members, Quizzes such as a popular bible speed-reading game called 'Draw Your Sword', etc. 03 The love and warmth of the Family Groups is also felt when members need a family to rejoice with them (the birth of a baby, a new home, a new job etc.) or to comfort and uphold them in tough times (For example in the death of a loved one.) 04 TCC members are assigned to family groups located closest to their homes. 05 Family Outreach Group meetings are open to visitors as well. 06 The S.O.F.T. Games began in 2002. S.O.F.T. is an acronym for a Sense Of Family Touch. It has turned out to be a kind of mini-Olympics with all the fun and sportsmanship that go with games. S.O.F.T Games comprise Outdoor Games (Soccer, Volleyball, Track Events etc) and Indoor Games (Chess, Scrabble, Word Quizes etc). 07 The meetings hold for one hour from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sundays.
