 Ekklesia: The School of Local ChurchFormally began in January 2005 in an air conditioned Portakabin on Greenville: the Ministry Grounds in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. We believe that God has brought us this far and the beginning of our best days are here. What is Ekklesia?A School for the 'called out ones', a School of Local Church. A school where we can fulfill what the Scriptures say in 2 Timothy 2:2 2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Over the years, in ministry we have seen so many sincere young men and women with a call of God upon their lives and yet without any knowledge of what to do next. They wander without purpose and direction because they were never really fully equipped or guided into the most honourable, most rewarding and yet most challenging 'job' on earth! At Ekklesia, our desire is to equip you for full time ministry based in a local Church. You will be taught in several areas including the essential core of the Word of God, Basic Bible History, Church Government and Administration, People Management etc. What is even more thrilling is the opportunity to have hands-on real practical training in a dynamic, growing, Bible based ministry like The Carpenter's Church. Or how do you place a value on the opportunity to learn at the 'feet' of men and women of God who have proved their ministries in integrity, simplicity and sincerity over the years? The School is very intensive and very demanding and will require a lot of self-drive and self-motivation. Mission StatementOur Mission is to raise men and women well equipped for full time Pastoral Ministry in a Local Church. Our Purpose is to achieve this through intensive training both by instruction and by practical involvement and example from ministers with years of proven integrity in ministry. Although there is an examination to be passed for every course, our focus is more on the spirit behind each class in Ekklesia than the academic prowess of the students. We desire that every word taught in an Ekklesia class will be like what our Lord Jesus Christ said in John 6:63 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. It is the Spirit who gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. Our Vision At the start of each Ekklesia year, we see a picture of the end of that school year. We see a picture of Simple men and women fully equipped to fulfill the most honourable calling on the face of the earth - the call into the Ministry of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. AdmissionsPresently, there are no new admission spaces available in Ekklesia. We will paste notifications on this site when admissions for 2011 begin. |
